Sawmill Lodge is at the mouth of the Magnetawan River (See Map). Really great Muskie and Walleye fishing at the mouth of the river... great Northern and Bass in Georgian Bay. No long risky boat trips to find prime fishing locations: always find excellent fishing, no matter which way the wind blows.
Limitless fishing opportunities: whole area is continuous fish holding
structure. Find huge weed beds, surface and deep underwater, many drop-offs,
sand bars, bolder beds, all terrain associated with glacier remains, and all
these are divided into endless channel, coves, bays, among countless islands and
surrounded by beautiful Georgian Bay water.
The island complex is part of the 30,000 islands along the eastern shore of
Georgian Bay, a noted excellent lunker-producing area of Ontario and we are in the northern portion where great
fishing continues. Enjoy the unexcelled rugged natural beauty of the Canadian
Shield; a tremendous mixture of rock formations, pine-clad islands and clean
water. Bring your camera, you'll never cease to wonder in awe at the
glacier-torn and scratched rocks of thousands of years past.
The lodge and cottages are set right along the water's edge. Good safe docks are positioned for easy access. Quiet, rustic atmosphere invites you to really relax; make yourself at home, have hot refreshments any time of the day. We are a fishing camp, completely informal and relaxed: you are on vacation. Bring your wife and fishing families, all are welcome. We will be pleased to help guests find their way to good fishing and also give suggestions as to best methods of fishing at different times of the season. Fish wrapping and deep freezing is supplied at the lodge.
